"It seems like a tenured teacher only has to show up to work and not break any laws."

Why do you think that about our teachers? Is that what you'd do?

So true. My dad died of cancer a few years ago and it's astounding how little we've done for cancer (and disease) treatment in general. But we can manufacture boner pills at the drop of a hat.

Then again, the greedy doctors and hospitals and the medicine community at general woulfd lose out on all the money we pay for treatments and medicine.

Hmmmm, sounds like 'tenure' is a bad concept regardless of the work one does (mailman, auto worker, politician, etc.). It promotes mediocrity and incompetence - performance based pay is the only way (capitalism at its finest)! OBTW, unions are the biggest roadblock to implementing performance based reward systems and in my opinion are one of the reasons our country's economy is in the toilet.

dncresearch: It's always been aggravating to me that people do not realize the difference between legal and illegal immigration. Thanks for taking the opportunity to point it out. That said, do you want to legalize meth and heroine? And what kind of a fence will be needed to divert everyone to the border entry points?

Congratulations! You've just made a stellar point as to how ineffective and utterly pointless gun control laws are.

As for the "cleaning up our mess", any of these would make good starting points: legalize drugs, put up a fence along the US/Mexican border, allow border patrol agents to use deadly force, crack down on ILLEGAL immigration (not legal immigration).

From your Twitter home page click on the Settings Tab. The first tab under settings is account. Just below the MORE INFO URL field you will see a hyperlink with the text (You can also add Twitter to your site here). Click on that and it will take you through the steps of adding the widgit. I clicked on the "other" option to get the code for mine :)

Let me know if that doesn't work/you need more help!
